Ryan Peal
Ryan Peal is the Creative Director for Hill & Knowlton Australia. Ryan is responsible for the overall creative genius of the agency (no pressure) and focuses on identifying innovations, inspirations and insights that help develop ideas with impact. Ryan is driving a region-wide focus on raising the level of creativity across the company, working with a team of more than forty people across APAC to help them inspire their colleagues to think and create differently. He is also currently providing support to the Sony Ericsson team, leveraging his 7+ years working in the mobile industry.
Previously Ryan was the Director of the agency’s Consumer Lifestyle team, working with clients such as Canon, eBay, The Coca Cola Company, Subway as well as developing the global strategy for the launch of the baby phenomenon, Dunstan Baby, which debuted on the world stage on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Before moving to Sydney Ryan was located in H&K's Los Angeles office, where he led the company’s U.S. youth marketing practice. While in LA Ryan directed the U.S. and global public relations activities for Motorola’s mobile devices group for more than seven years and helped adidas launch a variety of soccer products connected to its sponsorship of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. In addition, Ryan created programs to generate awareness for a number of spirits including Sauza Tequila, Malibu Rum and Stoli Vodka as well as provided creative direction for Boost Mobile, the fastest growing wireless company in the country, targeting the extreme/youth marketing audience.
Prior to joining H&K, Ryan worked at Fleishman-Hillard/NYC where he led a national education program on thyroid disease for Knoll Pharmaceuticals, makers of Synthroid. The 24-city campaign effort included spokesperson Olympic Gold Medallist Gail Devers and led to extensive local and national media coverage, including The Oprah Winfrey Show. In addition, Ryan represented Roche’s Dermatological unit, conducting consumer education efforts on acne and psoriasis targeting parents and teens.
Ryan graduated from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois with a B.A. in business. He received All-American recognition all four years for swimming, including Academic All-American during his freshmen year. He also co-founded a non-profit fund-raising group in Washington, D.C., which raised more than $100,000 in two years for local and national HIV/AIDS organizations.
